    M45A1 Holster?

Let me start by saying I have been a member here for quite a while but have always found the information I needed on previous posts, so I have not had the chance to post anything here yet.
I just purchased a Colt M45A1, but I didn't do enough homework about holsters for this handgun. It seems holster options are very limited due to the depth of the area above the rail. I did find and order a drop leg holster from Safariland, but that is not my first choice in a holster type for this, I really wanted something more like a OWB hi ride leather holster. I have been reading up reviews and holster descriptions but cannot find anything that seems to fit. I did see one review that someone claimed to fit this handgun into a Galco Fletch holster, which would be exactly what I was looking for. I called Galco to confirm and the rep told me that my handgun will no way fit into that holster and they do not produce a holster that would work with my gun. I am sure someone makes what I am looking for, I just cannot find it.
Has anyone found a good hi ride holster that fits this? Has anyone tried the Galco Fletch to confirm that it does not fit? I hate having this gun and no decent holster to use with it.

    Any information would be appreciated.
    Thanks

I just ordered a First Spear holster here: http://www.first-spear.com/home.php?cat=307 for the M45A1. The rail on the M45 is thicker than a normal 1911 pic. rail (like on my Springfield Operator) so my other holsters didn't fit well. Their turnaround time was only two weeks for me, even though they quote longer. It is nicely made and fits perfectly. The one I purchased was for the M45 with a Surefire X300U. The angles are good for a clean draw, and the retention loop is easily removable if you don't need it.

I recently purchased a Black Rhino Concealment holster for the M45A1. It sits a little farther out from the body than a Raven or Bravo holster, but it works.

Funny you posted this...I had just found this holster company today searching again for possibilities. The one you have is IWB? . I was really looking for a leather OWB, as this wont be my EDC carry weapon. Its more for around my property, range, and some IPSC/Action pistol shooting at the club.

On a side note, are you running the X300U on yours? I was looking into one as I run surefire on my ARs and handhelds, this seems like the obvious choice, but I haven't put my hands on one yet.

    Thanks for the info!

For a leather one, you probably have to get one custom made. The rail dimensions are different than a normal railed 1911

Where'd you buy the Raven? Are they not taking custom orders anymore? I tried searching around for a while and even calling them, no answer to my calls and no info.

Directly from Raven, its been a while, maybe six months ago.
I actually have two RCs that work with the M45A1, The black on is # RC 5115, its a X300U compatible.
