    Yet one more consideration would be to install 10-8 Performance/Trijicon HD/Dueck Defense or similar sights where the rears have a "ledge" so it is another angle your hand can index against without relying solely on grip strength.

    Lots of people run lighter recoil springs in guns for IDPA and most shoot standard pressure ammo. The lighter springs are more to tune the slide than anything else but they function fine.
