http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/ makes good, inexpensive rails. Stay FAR FAR FAR away from UTG, NC Star or any unbranded ebay specials.
UTG has an FSP drop-in for $100 that's made in USA. Still probably garbage, but it's probably also better than anything Chinese. Either way, I agree with the MI recommendation.

    Ramrod;

You don't need to ditch the dust cover, you have to go free float if you intend on using anything decent over 7", you can go as far as 15" on a 16" barrel, the gas block diameter will be .750" for the Sport barrel, and $100 won't get you anywhere decent. Especially since I doubt you have any tools to do anything involved, and would have to buy them or pay a gunsmith.

Best case scenario, you can get a Midwest Industries two-piece free float FSP quad rail from BCM for $145 and not have to buy anything new. Dremel off the delta ring assembly and you're done. If you insist on running a flip-up, then you could use the non-FSP model, but unless you shave your FSB, you'll have to buy a new low profile gas block and front sight, and you're not getting out of the whole thing for less than $200.

I'd put that $100-$200 into better components on the rifle itself...

If you're comfortable with mlok over a quad rail, you can find the ALG EMR rails for $100 on sale and shave down you existing gas block to fit.

Why did you buy something with an FSB to begin with?

Why do you think you need a rail system?

You aren't going to get anything of quality for 100.00.

The basic type AR like you have is probably the best thing to get acquainted with. That goes for you and her.

OK, I am looking to add a longer handguard to my bone stock setup. I'd like to go to a quad rail and ditch the front post sight. I will be adding a front flip up to match the rear. Upon looking and researching. I know I need to ditch the dust cover and need a low profile gas block. While looking for a low profile gas block I'm seeing different sizes. I do not know everything about my rifle. Yes I know that I should know more, that's where this forum may come in handy.

Can anyone point me into the right direction for a low profile gas block and quad rail. I've checked CTD, and see that some are fairly inexpensive. I'm not looking to break the bank, as this is just a go out and target practice. Get the Mrs comfortable with one and use to having one in the house. Some time down the road I'll look into building my own, but for now this is what I'm working with.

    Questions....
How long of a handguard can I go? I'm looking for almost maximum real estate. I think I can go 12" and not have any issues. Must have picatinny for,or ting purposes.
    Free float or drop in?
    Diameter of gas block?
    Total budget, around $100.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide me with!

$100 puts you in far east junk territory as far as quality free float rails go. As has been said, make do with Magpul SL/something similar or up your budget.

    The 15" version is $90.

ALG Rails are excellent. Use your existing pinned FSB and cut it to fit underneath.

better yet, keep the handguard as is and spend the $100 on a squared away 2 point sling and more magazines.

100.00 might get him into a rail, he will still need a gas block unless he does an FSB Caitlyn. In addition all rail pieces need to be purchased separately as well.

Wait till the v3 is on sale, shave the fsb. No rail sections needed. Get a light mount and go.

Nothing wrong with shaving the FSB if its done right. Especially if the stocker is pinned, you will get a stronger setup than a set screw gas block, which I've had no issues with and I haven't even dimpled the barrel.
