    Malfunctions- Front Sight Practical Rifle

Hi guys. I'm attending front sight training institute in April. Question for those who took the practical rifle class there... can you run through "their" type 1,2,3 malfunction clearing drills?

I've done the pistol and got distinguished graduate. Hoping to practice their technique some before heading down. Don't want to loose points on malfunctions.

I can't find much on what they specifically require. There are a few different methods out there so I figured I would ask around. Thanks for any insight.

    Very similar to pistol.
    Type 1 - tap rack
Type 2 - tap rack flip
Type 3 - lock back, strip, rack rack rack , insert mag and rack.
IIRC , type 3 is not timed.

They do not do bolt override malfunction.

Personally, I think the pistol qual is harder than the rifle qual.

    Awesome.

Just tap or do they do the push/pull? Do any of them have the added "check for spare mag" or "step to the side for cover" additions?

Thanks again. Can't wait to get out there again.

Type 3 includes moving to cover.
