http://www.retroblackrifle.com/ has everything you need to know. Once there select "Military Rifles" and then "Colt Model 601". There are pictures and descriptions of every part.

If you need any help with a 601 build, contact John Thomas at Retro Arms Works (801-441-2801 or jntmjt1@yahoo.com). He is the man to see for 601 repro parts, mods, and re-finishing.
You can also consider a Model 602 or Model 604. The Air Force used these as well.
