Contacted BCM this afternoon via mail. Hopefully they'll take care of it. I have a new DD BCG to toss in there if needs be until this one gets squared away.

    Three reasons-
    1) When the extractor spring is weak, it loses control of the rim of the case before the mouth of the case clears the ejection port. This means it's not held against the bolt face and the ejector cannot flick it out. The empty stays inline with the action

    2) If it was the extractor was working and the ejector was not, the extractor would hold the case against the bolt face until either a weak ejector flipped it 90° or the next round from the mag pushed it 90° and the result would be a classic stovepipe

    3) Each time I've encountered the problem, replacing the extractor spring always fixed it

I get that is an easy fix and most likely will solve it. But, we should still be adhering to the contact manufacturer rules. This also let's BCM know that there MAY be an issue and something they can keep an eye on.

I'm not a patient man. I emailed BCM Sunday and have not yet received any response. Does anyone have a better address to contact them other than the shitty info@ address that probably gets spammed to high heaven?

They are usually pretty good about getting back. Try giving them a call.

So I will fully own up to a technical failure on my part. Sent email via iPad and for some reason it never left the inbox. Re-emailed them and have already heard back. Will be shipping BCG back for a replacement.

This. I've personally had great luck with the BCM enhanced extractor spring (chrome silicon). You can get one for around $4. It's a really great upgrade, and really makes a big difference, especially with weaker ammunition.

Kind of an ironic recommendation, he's having the problem with a BCM BCG.

This is true. Even though it's $4.00, if it's a problem out of the box so to speak, I believe on principle the mfg should take care of it. I'll be shipping the BCG back to BCM on Monday, though on my own dime, which I'm not thrilled about, but I want it to be right...
