    Compact Binoculars

My 20 year old tasco 12x25 binoculars that I let ride in the truck bit the dust last week. Want a new set of compacts to replace them that won't break the bank. Inexpensive enough I won't cry if something happens to them basically. So probably less than $150. What should I look at?

Take a look at these (most models in your price range).

The 10x42 would probably fit the bill. Most of the time I'm looking at the back of the pasture at dusk so a bit bigger objective would be nice. Do you carry those?

We don't normally carry that model, but can special order it and offer an M4C discount on it.

Let me look around and do some more research. Like to make double sure of what I want.

Aside from the Vortexes, which have nothing wrong with them, I've seen a lot of folks recommend the compact Steiner police models. I also suggest checking out the Hawke Frontier ED models. The Hawkes have gotten surprisingly good reviews for their price point.

Steiners look nice but outside of the budget it seems. Hawkes are about the same.

Eagle Optics uses HD glass, too. They're reasonable in cost.

    .

Decide on a few that would meet you need and then start checking out pawn shops. Most of the time they will take less than what they're asking because there aren't a lot of binoculars shoppers going there.

    But maybe it's just me...
