Cant say I blame you, I think many would feel exactly as you have stated.
As far as bolt guns, my GAP shoots .5" groups with m118lr. Im sure I would be down well below .5" with a handload worked up

Gosh, no problems with mine at all. I bought mine used 8 years ago used for exactly 2k. I hope this example is a one off situation from LMT. Sad to hear about all of the problems.
