Opinions needed...Suppressor mounting for 9mm SBR

I am in the process of finishing a 9mm, Colt mag style, SPR. The barrel is threaded 1/2 x 28. The intended suppressor is going to be an AAC Tirant that I've had laying around for a while.

The question is, if using the 1/2 x 28 piston with a fixed barrel spacer, would there be any concerns as to the suppressor occasionally loosening up during high round count sessions, and thus having to be constantly checked and tightened, OR.... would the best bet be to go with a 3-Lug muzzle device and 3-Lug adapter on the suppressor?

I would go 3-lug.

I got mine to stay tight with an oring, but I've only tested it on one range session, and orings won't stand up to extreme temps. Its on a pistol, so the extra movement may cause it to loosen.

If you have the parts I'd try it. Although the investment for 3lug is less than fixing a baffle strike.

3 lug less worry about turning loose.
and the 3 lug itself is easy to find.
there is a vendor on the forum that sells a 3 lug tool that works great as well

Thread on three lug adapters simply become the new mounting point and they can come unscrewed as easily as a threaded mount suppressor. The only way you will gain any real advantage is if you permanently mount the three lug.

With any thread on QD mount, you have to remember that it is still threaded on.

Direct thread via piston has worked for me for thousands of rounds across 4-5 different platforms. And not once has it come loose via the connection point. Where I have seen it come loose is the end cap to suppresor, anywhere from 1/8 to a 1/4 turn at best. Due to the old design of the spacer which kept it from seating flush with the suppressor. AAC has since come out with a new design spacer and wave spring to seat everything flush now:

If using an adhesive you will largely solve the problem. 3 lugs don't require much torque at all.
