Need info on this vintage AR

Need some info on this can view vintage AR.

Rare and/or collectible? What's a fair price to offer for this?

Does it look original or altered?

Appreciate the help. New to the vintage side.

    Need any other details?

Not rare or collectible. PSA receiver parts gun built by god knows who. Certainly isn't vintage, I don't think they've even existed for 10 years. Who knows what upper that is, could be anything.

That is not a PSA gun, that is an old Oly. Lower is not worth much, value really depends on upper, if it is military that would add a lot.

Found some more info. Looks like these may have been milled and made for PSA from 79 to 82.

Palmetto State Armory did not exist in that time frame, IIRC they started around 2004-5, the Palmetto Armory Olympia SGW made these receivers for is a different company and likely out of business for years. Still a crappy Oly lower. Military A1 upper receivers should be marked on right side under rear site in the recess, barrels are usually marked between front site base and flash suppressor. If the bolt carrier is a Colt it will have a C on left side and bolt itself should be marked with something like C MPI.

Lower finish tool marks are really something to look at!

Might have better value to a "pre-ban only" state resident since it looks like a 1979-1982 mfgr date and that beats the 1994 assault weapon ban dates that some states use. Upper parts look like that time period.

Not a rifle I'd be interested in, but to be fair I do have an Olympic flat top "ultramatch" SGW stop sign gun I bought just before the 1994 ban with the round aluminum tube fore-end and heavy 1 in 9 "match" barrel with shaved FSB. I was happy to get it for the inflated price I paid at the time. If the election had gone different I probably would have made a profit off it recently, now it just eats valuable safe space. Had to go through it and replace every spring and properly stake the carrier key to get it to shoot reliably.

Oly is actually probably worse, think they made a run of receivers for Century Arms. Which is about where I'd rank this one.

Narrows it down quite a bit. Again, Oly isn't that great.

Guys, the lower was made for Palmetto Armory (not Palmetto State Armory). It was made by Schuetzen Gun Works (SGW), which later became Olympic Arms, back in the late 1970s to late 1980s. These were cast lowers. They have some value being that they are pre-ban lowers. Value could be $100-$400 depending on which state you are in. As far as the upper assembly goes, no idea. Without seeing any barrel markings, pictures if the right side of the upper receiver, a side profile of the bolt carrier, and a picture of any markings on the bolt, it is hard to tell anything about it. It could be an old Olympic Arms upper with a replacement barrel. No way to know. The stock, pistol grip, and handguards appear to be USGI parts.
