Awesome! Might I offer two little bits to think about?

Once you graduate from 5x5 take a look at 5/3/1. Jim Wendler has templates for as little as two days a week. I used that plan to get through medic school when I could only hit the weights every fourth day.

I'm currently running through Starting Strength. I've lifted off and on in the past, but after recovering from surgery last September, I started SS. It's pretty similar to Stronglifts, but includes the power clean instead of the row and doesn't appear to involve as much accessory work. It also runs 3x5 rep schemes as opposed to 5x5 so you can lift more weight. As the name implies, the main goal is strictly to get stronger, which I certainly have. Once I stop making consistent linear progression, I'll move to his intermediate program.

I want to use a rowing machine for my HIIT. Could I prevail on you to help me with that? I have been doing level 4 (concept 2 rower) balls-out for 60 seconds, rest 60, and repeat. Total time 20 minutes, time under work, 10. My warm-up is lifting, my cool-off is walking around the gym until breathing is normal and then leave.

    How should I alter this?
