I want to order a UID tag for my Colt M4A1 Socom. From what I understand Colt's cage code is 13629 and I would use my rifles serial on the tag but what part number would be correct for my rifle?

    CAGE 13629
    PART ????
    SERIAL

Maybe someone could help me out?

Follow-up question: Does anybody have the P/N for a basic Government-profile M4 with RAS, or is it same as SOCOM?

I'm not sure if Colt Square or FN Rectangle would be a better format for my Aero-lower clone, but right now how does this look for data set? (1WXY6 is Aero's legit CAGE code, I checked.)

    CAGE 1WXY6
    PART 12972700
    SERIAL X[redacted]

Spot on! The square is the newer version and what many are most used to. The Colt rectangular are still found on many, many thousands of rifles though. The slightly larger FN rectangular UID is the new rectangular style that was designed by FNH when they received the contract. Basically it is your choice on which you like more.

That answers my follow up question. So from what I’m gathering, for a 2015-ish M4A1 with a socom profile, either the Colt square or the rectangle would be appropriate?

Yeah, both are still found on rifles.
