M16/M4 sear ding

A request for all you professionals and private M16 owners:
Inspect your lower, and every one that's convenient for you in your arms rooms, and see if the secondary/auto sear impacts your lower such as this:

Just trying to get a feel for how common this is. From what I can tell it occurs on nearly every example I look for it on, including my personal M16.

Nothing at all? I haven't found one yet that doesn't at least have a small mark. Some of the others I know said they didn't have any marks as well and then got around to looking closer and actually did. I get varying opinions about it from armorers and smiths, some say don't worry about it and some say it's stressing the pin holes. I'm trying to get to know all I can about this phenomenon, it's strange that this doesn't seem to be a widely known and documented thing for a weapon system that's been around for so long.

Well after taking a swab with solvent to the area, I do have a rub mark but not an actual ding. Not able to post a pic right now though. It's a RR Colt M16A1 with a Geissele SSF set.

Just checked my A2. It has the same scuff; that's all it appears to be. I don't think I'll worry about it.

Thanks guys. My personal is also a colt A1 RR with SSF. I've also seen this in A1s and newer A2s with standard triggers. Maybe it really is nothing to worry about.
