MDWS has some new barrels available including this one.

The PDW gas system is based, in part, on some of my feedback. I'll pick one up as soon as I can and swap it out with my pistol length system.

Yes, we designed the BRT PDW gas system to split the difference between the existing Pistol and Carbine systems, based on feedback from several sources and our own extensive research.

Clint, are you going to also sell other barrels with the PDW gas system? This is exactly what I'm looking for in my next build, but I wont' be starting it for a couple of months.... Wife made me give up building ARs for Lent

We have a 9" 5.56 PDW in development which is really cool.

We're also exploring other applications where this system makes sense.

Just a guess but I'd think the hybrid gas would work well on barrels that are between 9 and 12 inches long.

    Yup.

It just depends on the pressure curve of the specific cartridge.

So, it's exactly 1.5" longer than pistol length?

I'm really looking forward to trying the new gas system on the 277. I think it should really soften the thing out with supersonic ammo. Now it might impact reliability with subs and no can but that's not important to me.

It should make both modes work better.

As you know, the issue with the pistol 12.5 is that it works well subsonic, but is really overgassed for supersonic.

The excessive power time contributes to this.

The PDW system brings the timing into better balance.
