    I've seen people take a light rifle and make top heavy with the wrong scope.

    Yeah, I find the SCARs easy to make top heavy. I had a 25oz scope and 8oz QD mount up there and it wanted to tip left and right whenever possible. Although it has a 17oz NF with a 7 oz, the -9 oz has made a huge different in how it handles and feels to me.

    I'm cutting ounces here and there on everything I own. Taking off those rail covers that aren't need, those random extra rails, etc. It's surprising how a couple things here and there can get you a 1/4 lb off pretty quick without missing much.

    My buddy made some 2A 308 rifles with Proof CF barrels - I've only see the pics but they are light as hell!
