I work for Knight's, and I could put literally any of our super-duper muzzle devices on my guns, and my 14.5 SR-15 wears one of these (pinned and welded).
Here she is with an NT-4:

It's not the least expensive brake/FH in the world, but it is highly effective, not as blasty as most others, mounts an NT4, and is a KAC product (which keeps your warranty in-tact with no justification needed as long as the installer doesn't screw anything up).
That rifle is straight up black sex.

Where can I read about this? And that would have been glorious.

The M4-QD and the NT4 have been around a very long time, the design is 20+years old now. I'm not sure how far back the NT3 dates to, but I bet it's early on though. Trying to dig back that far on the internet isn't going to be easy.

KAC raised and extended 30mm mount, PN 30520.
It's kind of unheard of, as it's been lost on the KAC website storefront for a few years.

You should give our 6315 a look

It's based on A2 dimensions, with Forward Controls designed asymmetrical ports (smaller and shorter ports at 3 and 9 o'clock) to give it flash suppression performance of the A2, but with 20 to 25% better muzzle rise compensation performance, without the noise and concussion of a typical comp or brake.

The shape of the ports pay homage to the Stoner 63 LMG (hence the "63" in 6315's namesake)
