    I have some ESEE knives (Well they are RAT before they rebranded). I have the 3, 4, and 5. The 3 is relatively light, and thin, and good for EDC. It isn't like the 5 at all which is basically a sharpened pry bar.

    I would look at use, if I was going fixed blade as a purely defensive item I'd look into karambits and that family, but they are pretty useless as EDC. In my mind, EDC and CCW are very opposed use tools, and the sacrifices you give up from CCW to be a better EDC and vice versa are too great to make either serviceable. Just as a CCW wouldn't translate into bushcraft and vice versa. I simply carry knives as EDC tools and a firearm for CCW, and that serves my purposes.
