I attempted to replace a DD Omega 7.0 handguard with a KAC RAS on one of my SOCOM barreled rifles, only to find it doesn't fit. Looks like I will have to modify an insert that is installed at the front of the upper portion of the handguard. I installed a set of plastic handguards to get me by in the meantime, and put the Omega rail on the EE.

I installed a Larue MBT in place of the G2S that I have other plans for. I am eager to take it to the range and shoot it.

Big big day in the shop.

Drilled and tapped a brand new BCM upper for a threaded forward assist retaining pin - I know, I know, I just like to piddle.

Installed the 7.62 flat plate onto my Omega Suppressor as soon as it arrived in the mail. Got it from Tombstone Tactical, they had the good price and shipped it pretty quickly.

I have a 5.56 flat plate and a 7.62 Anchor Brake. I kind of thought using the Anchor Brake on the Omega kind of defeated the purpose of the suppressor for the shooter and bystanders, but was hesitant to leave the 5.56 flat cap on because I also shoot 6.5 Grendel and 300 Blackout suppressed and was worried I'd forget to change the cap.

So with the 7.62 flat cap I wont have that worry.

Anxious to see how much louder the 7.62 flat cap is than the 5.56 when shooting 5.56. Will find out tomorrow, taking Grandson to range early in the morning, unfortunately his dad (my youngest son) is off so he is also going to be going and ruin our fun.
