I purchased an extra lower and all the parts to complete it. Black Friday deals were too tempting.

Put about 600 rounds through it. Almost time for a cleaning.

Arisaka Mossie Mount test-fitted with its intended light to ensure both sight and blast deflector clearance--it works; little red-beam Princeton nav light moved over to make way for big Olight blinder in thumbrest position. Shockwave Blade removed and replaced with SB Tactical SBM4 in preparation to mount rear mag-carrier. (Lesson learned: Vltor A5 tube plus SB brace = LOOOONG ass-end! Regular tube with Geissele S42 for compacts, A5 for "length doesn't matter" builds.)

Trying to figure out where the hell my BCG and front-sight kit went... EDIT: BCG located, now to either find or replace that pesky front sight kit.

Installed an Arisaka inline scout mount and one of their 2-cell Scout lights. Very well made setup and substantially more compact than comparable Surefire's.

I didn’t know they made an A5 pistol extension.

https://www.opticsplanet.com/vltor-a5-pistol-kit.html 98.79, code BLSAT makes it 87.92 shipped if you order before the 28th at 11:59PM Central time (and 11% off everything else you order at the same time).

The one thing I don't like about mine is that raised ring that won't let me snug my brace up right to the castle-nut.

New Arisaka Mossie mount on, test-fitted two 40-round PMags. Still awaiting blinder light, due next Thursday, and LAW folder from another member, payment sent but ship and arrival dates unknown.

Apologies for the crappy-ass phone pix...

Components still enroute, pending order or otherwise not installed for this test:
    • A4 FSP kit
    • DI Optical FC1 RDS
    • Olight PL1 II "blinder" light
    • LaserMax green-beam laser and tape-switch kit
    • LAW sidefolder
    • SB Tactical brace-mount mag carrier
    • (in hand but not installed) Indian Creek BFD blast deflector

Remaining action items whether self or outsourced to professional subcontractor:
    • Chop and reblue bayonet lug
    • Reanodize or Cerakote blast-deflector mount
    • Properly torque barrel and castle nuts (and stake castle)
    • Source and machine final "live" lower

In the meantime my friend, a certified Colt Armorer, put together a stripped Colt lower for me.

Used all Colt parts, A2 stock from a Pre-ban Sporter I sold north some years back.

Put my complete Colt A2 1/7 upper, circa 1998, on & now my A2 is finally back together again.
