Zeroed my Aimpoint at 50 yards, and confirmed at 200.
Then shot unsupported to see how many I could put on target at 200 yards. I need to practice more.
Was a good day. Hit the rifle range to try out a homemade shooting bag. First attempt was what most would consider a "squeeze" bag. I do need to add some more fill media. In hindsight, I also would have made it a little bigger.
Still, I was really pleased with how it turned out and performed. Especially considering that I have less than $15 into it; and have enough material and fill media to make about a dozen more
With the new shooting bag in tow, I made a point to actually shoot for some groups with the aid of a 3x magnifier I recently purchased. While the 3x doesn't really facilitate aiming with pinpoint precision (for me), the little bit of magnification makes a notable difference.
The rifle I put it on has always done pretty well with the 55gr FMJ Perfecta brand Fiocchi puts out. Unfortunately, with Walmart no longer carrying it, I went through the last of what I had. Shot a handful of 3 round groups, with the largest just a bit over 2.5". Most others were in the 1.5" range, and had one under 1".
Closed the day out with a 5 round string of Hornady 55gr V-Max. I know it's no secret, but the results from that string perfectly illustrated the kind of difference good ammo can make. Even though I fired two additional rounds, it was my best group of the day.
Gonna do some cleaning tomorrow and probably put another shooting bag together. So, until next time...

I did not know the man quoted above, and joined this Forum after his passing. He seemed to be a leader of men; both spiritually and physically. Someone we'd all be proud to emulate.
Fitted some slings on my ARs.
Added an ambi mag-catch to the Parts Box waiting to be assembled. Debating whether or not to try to do Creative Accounting to afford a CASV I saw in the EE so I can have a spare in case the GF and I find her a legal way around ITAR so we can have a His/Hers set for the range...

Bought a handguard for a new upper build.
Swapped around optics, and swapped out barrels on a few uppers. Now I need to resight things back in.
