Yeah, that's the biggest thing holding me back on attempting a GL/SSC build other than budget too... I'm considering turning the 12.5 project into a speculative "What if the SSC were being developed now with 20 years better tech?" build to avoid that.

My new Colt bbl assembly arrived today. I will add a FA plug and spin it together tonight with my 12 year old daughter she's pretty fired up to build an AR with me. I bought a Colt BCG here on the EE and I have a Colt CH. I have a set of handguards and may use a KAC BUIS I have.

I installed the barrel nut on my 9mm AR. Attempted to install flash hider without vise block. No luck.

Purchased Geissele airborne charging handle and KAC ambi mag release from Brownells.

Shot the Trooper with Scalarworks fixed irons. 1/2" 5 shot group at 50 yds and 3/4" at 100 yds. This was with the handload of Hornady 55gr FMJ with 24.5gr of TAC and Tula SRM primers.

Installed a new BCM MCMR13 replacing a QRF12 on one upper, then put the QRF12 onto another replacing an Aero MLOK rail.

Opted out of the heavy Trijicon 1-8x AccuPower and waiting for a Steiner p4xi to get here. My Aero mount came in today though.
