What is the best way to Punish UPS?

Most places don't have the option of FED EX and I'm sick of UPS and their late deliveries and wave offs for deliveries. I'm about at a 1/3 late rate with them. I bought a scope and 2nd day aired it so I could get it on my son's rifle and zero it this weekend. It's supposedly out for delivery.....

I now see that for a residential delivery, they say that End Of Business means until midnight. F'ers. When I set up shipments can I say I'm a business and have a better chance of getting it before 5?

When I have tried to get a refund for late deliveries direct from UPS, they always say that they have to refund the supplier. Why should I and the supplier have to inconvience ourselves because UPS is retarded? Yes retarded. I'm bringing back the use of the word 'retarded' and Croc shoes for men without shame- because they both fit so well.

I get that shipments will be late, but I'm tired of BS like today. I'm sure, since we are due to get snow tonight, I'll get a weather waiver excuse-, even though it's supposedly been on a truck all day and it isn't even snowing yet. I specifically used 2nd day air thinking that would at least get it here with some priority.... bzzzzztttt.

The kicker is fed ex, usps and ups have already been here each once.

Anybody got best practices for UPS?

The door bell rang and I opened it because I was sure it was them, but it was some inner city jobs scam going door to door. I f'ing hate that.

I know as soon as I press send they'll show up.

I'm just the opposite. Fed Ex is worthless in my area and UPS is the way to go.

Yeah, around here FedEx ground is subcontracted out and you don't want to hear those horror stories. I have had a few bad experiences with UPS but nothing like FedEx.

Oh god ain't that the truth. I've dealt with a few of those contractors and let me tell you, it something else. That and they seem to leave the packages at the oddest places around the house. USP at least usually puts them in the breeze way with everything else.

Honest opinion though, they all suck. It isn't about which is best, it about which sucks less and honestly. Had a package from the USPS that took 12 days to get here, next order, from the same place, too 4. Figure that shit out. USP having USPS deliver is also a pain in the ass, but the shit fed ex pulled, I have to wonder if the driver wasn't trying to case the house.

Have you called the local office? I have a handful of buddies who work for UPS and they're hard working guys. I know the bosses are tough on them with complaints.

Fex ex wouldn't show up for 3 days to pick up packages at the previous job. We had to redo our to testing because they didn't show up for a next day air shipment.

They are ok at the new location, ups and FedEx are about even here. How to punish? Don't use them, get next day air and dispute when they fail.

    Yup.

    Typical Fed-Ex experience:

Truck goes by, no delivery. Wave the guy down, says "probably contracted to USPS". Mailman comes...no delivery. Says "we put those on special trucks". Special truck shows up.....late.

    Typical UPS experience:

Door bell goes off...by the time I get the door open, package is on the porch and big brown is gone like ****in' Santa Claus.

Around here UPS seems to be the best option though they are not without fault. Overall I've only had two issues with UPS and neither of those involved our regular delivery driver.

    1. A couple years ago I ordered flowers to my wife's office for Valentines Day. It was close to the time the office was due to close and still the tracking said "out for delivery." I texted my wife and asked her if UPS had been by. She said yes. Wtf! I text a friend of mine who works at UPS Loss Prevention. He runs the tracking number and tells me they flowers are on the truck that was at the office and were never delivered. He calls the driver and tells him that unless he wasn't a to be fired for steeling a package he should deliver the flowers. They were in my wife's hands in about 20minutes from the time of the phone call.

    2. I ordered a piece of kit and because of the months long delays they thought they were being nice and send the package out next day air. That's awesome, except that required an adult signature. UPS decided to deliver it to my house at 10am. Um... People work! Come on. I call the local hub using their impossible to find number that my friend gave me. They say that it's still on the truck. They will attempt to contact the driver and IF he is able to come back they will call me. I never get a phone call so the wife and I leave for dinner. When we come back, there is a note on the door saying that the driver came back and missed us again. For Fs sake!

Other than that UPS is very good. USPS is total shit here. At Christmas time they delivered 4 of 5 packages to the wrong door. The same one too, so it's not an error, just plain old laziness.

Tip UPS guy with liquor at major holidays.
Ammo and Gun Parts arrive on time, if not early.

UPS drivers are union, so I guess the above advice is solid. Curry the favor, enjoy the rewards.

My company uses FedEx to deliver critical components (sensitive electronics) and uses UPS for RMA on defective parts. It might be because a cost/better pricing thing, but the explanation I was given is that FedEx can at least deliver on time and undamaged; if it's already broken then UPS can't mess it up any worse. The problem I have seen is FedEx never does next day/2nd day delivery to remote locations, but will gladly charge my customers for those services. And, being New Mexico, everywhere outside of Albuquerque and Santa Fe are "remote".
