Fake Leo marks on an AR lower

Can I put false LEO marks on my m733 clone to make it more realistic. It would Read "RESTICTED GOVERNMENT/ LAW ENFORCEMENT/ EXPORT ONLY" would I get in any trouble for do this to recreate a clone during the brady years. I have a ton of leo mags and have seen leo marked ars for sale but never one put on after the ban for a clone.

I'm not aware of any reason why it would be a problem.

Why would you want to? Personally, I would not do anything of the sort. The Model 733 is an M16A2 series carbine that is full-auto. It was already restricted and was not sold to civilians. They did not have any restricted markings that I have ever seen or are aware of.

I don't think it's a good idea. If the communists ever get in to office again you can rest assured they can and will use this against you. Might sound far-fetched to you but I don't rule out anything whatsoever happening in the future.

    question 1,
Was thinking about making it a swat model look alike which a 635 semi auto i saw at a local gun store had markings like so and which pd it was from and had a police auction bill of sale to cover the question.
    question 2
don't disagree with you one bit, that's why I asked this question in concern about doing so. then again this is a registered SBR already so it's already a poster child of Nancy P. and Mrs. F...

Myanswer and reason is firm. I would not engrave or otherwise mark it as you say. It does NOT have to be that authentic. It's your decision.

I don't know if this is of any help, but, one of the LMT lowers I bought right after SH shooting was marked "Law Enforcement/Gov Use Only" or something like that.

It came from the factory like that, so it's not some aftermarket engraving. I have no idea if these were really produced for LE/Gov, or if it was just done by LMT for show.

    I would like to know.

In any case, I don't think it's necessarily illegal or a problem considering I bought it directly from Rainier Arms. So if you want to do so, I doubt you'll have any trouble. Now with future administrations and laws, who knows?

Legally, yes, but if realism is what you are after, those markings were never put on that gun.

Also it should be mentioned that those markings were found on semi autos long after the sunset. I think 2013 is the year they were removed from LE "semi auto" rifles.

And even if you want to recreate them, the markings would have to be engraved, either by laser or milling cutter. Colt used a rollmark die, and your markings won't really won't look the same.
