    Best Multiplatform Battery Charger?

I am looking for a charger to do 18650, AA, AAA batteries. If possible I would like something that can work off a wall outlet and a car cigarette lighter outlet.

I, along with several friends, have been really pleased with the Nitecore D2 charger. A lot of bang for the buck. Supposedly you can buy it with the accessory cigarette lighter cord as a package. Most places offer the cigarette lighter cord separately.

Will the D2 let you charge one battery at a time? I have a charger to do AA and AAA's but you have to do a pair at a time to complete the circuit.

Yes, you do can do one at a time. I also like that I can choose a lower, 300 mA, charging rate independently on either charging bay for smaller batteries.

I use the Nitecore D2 as well...It's worked really well for me so far and for like $17 on Amazon, it's pretty hard to beat.

I'm pretty sure mine came with the cigarette adapter as well as the wall cord, FWIW.

From the listings I am seeing there is a "2016 version" and I believe that is the one that comes with both cords.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I picked up the D4 so I could do more batteries. So far I like it.

I use a Nitecore i4 that I've had for years, used exactly for what you stated. Mixing individual battery types has worked well (charged up one AA, two AAAs, and one 18650 last night on it). The D4 should be pretty much the same, but with a display instead of blinking indicator LEDs. I haven't bought regular alkalines for years because of this thing.

Has anyone ever used solar panels with their charger?
