I appears the reason my receipt was "invalid" was due to the price I paid not being on it. Why should it matter what price I paid? It's a $75 rebate not a 20% rebate off the purchase price.
I sent the packing receipt I got with the gun because it had: The place I bought it from, the place it was shipped to, the serial number and that it was shipped.
If I just had a receipt and a serial number, it could have been a gun I bought and then changed by mind and returned it while still in the store. (Perhaps to get something else) One could fraudulently do that I think. They would still have a receipt unless the store insisted on altering it/taking it back.
Anyway, they gave me three weeks to send the letter back. So it goes out tomorrow with a copy of the receipt Palmetto State Armory E-mailed to me when I ordered the pistol. It contains all the info MPS wants, including the price. We'll see what happens.
