You know. Some guns, that is all the purpose that they need.

Interested to see the final result and how it shoots.

My upper has a pinned 14.5" barrel and a magnesium BCM rail.
Assembled with a AimPoint T2, it tips the scales at 6.6 pounds.

    It's a hoot to shoot!

I thought about that barrel but didn't want to pay the extra money. I have a 15" KMR-A on the way to go with it. I might put an MRO on it, not sure yet.

There is a dedicated 458 Socom forum on the net that has tons of good stuff. Tony from Tromix is on there all the time. Tromix is great and they stand behind their products. I have a 10.5 that I shoot about 100 rds per week through, it's one of my favorite guns. A Silencerco Hybrid silencer makes it even better. If you want to shoot it very much you really need to reload, any 45-70 bullet will work with it. The advantage it has over the Beowulf is that it uses rifle bullets so it's better for hunting pigs, etc. It drops pigs in their tracks, one shot, one pig.

Can't wait to see the finished product.

Looks like a cool lightweight thumper.

Either way, you started with a darn good base to build upon.

Does .458 SOCOM destroy collapsible stocks? Curious in case I decide to build one off an existing lower of mine.

No experience myself yet, but my research says no.

Right at 450 rounds through this .458, have had this LWRCI compact stock body installed the whole time without any issues
