Frankly, I also use my back pocket frequently, since that's where I'd most likely store my spare carbine mag.
If you're using 10 round mags that are sized at 10 rounds (i.e. Shorter than 20 rounders) you might find it difficult to get enough purchase to extract the magazine from a belt pouch with any sort of speed or efficiency. In that case, I recommend your back pocket.. If you're using 20 or 30 round mags that are modified to only hold 10 rounds then the pouches will work fine.
The advice above is worth exactly what you paid for it.
