    AR Parts Weight Chart

This is NOT my work, but is a salvage from the old Maryland AR15 Shooters MSN group. Many here have asked me to look for it and I finally found it on an old hard drive.

I would be happy to maintain/add to the baseline if people wan to post known weights here in this thread. If you have pictures of your items on the scale that would be even more helpful to avoid any confusion.

This will be very helpful in planning future builds especially when some of the latest gear gets added to the list. Good on you for posting this up.

Nice find. These two charts should complement the "Chart" quite nicely.

Thanks for looking for that and posting it up! It looks to be a handy additional reference for parts to use on current and future builds.

I'd love to help update it but I don't have the right scale, hence the importance to me of this chart.

Ouch. My KISS build comes in at an estimated 9.16 lbs with magazine and M193.

    Weight Chart

I can't understand the usefullness of the chart. I have built several ARs and they all function perfectly without knowing how much each part weighs.

    What am I missing?

Weight is an important element to some people when choosing between one part and another. weight, cost, functionality... they are all aspects of the decision-making process.
