For anyone interested. Spoke to LMT on the phone the other day. And I asked them the gas port size on my 10.5 upper. They told me it is ported at .083

The Odin Works 10.5" barrel I have has a .083" gas port and it's grossly over gassed.

With the gas port sizes on some of these barrels, mfgs seem to be doubling down on the "more is better" philosophy.

It's almost as if engineering data, actual testing and customer feedback are lost concepts...

Instead, they take what should work, add 25% to that and punch a big hole in the tube.

American Spirit Arms 10.5" barrel measured out at .098 with a pin gage set.

One customer with sketchy ammo, a sketchy home build with sketchy parts, and no idea or interest in trouble shooting will go all over the forums and complain "it should run on anything".
