I needed room for the slave pin in the Geissele SSA to push out the side when installing that trigger.

You do not need to use a slave pin to install the hammer, the slave pin does come in handy for the trigger and disconnector assembly but for the hammer just use a punch from the right side to align the holes and cock the hammer**, gently remove the punch and install the hammer pin. There is enough of the pin exposed on the left side for a small punch to push the hammer pin out the right side if need be.
ETA: **Be sure to capture and maintain control of the hammer to prevent it going "boing" and of course do not pull the trigger.
