    Aimpoint NANO VS Trijicon RMR

We received the new B&T USW in and with it, came the Aimpoint NANO. For those that do not know, B&T requested that Aimpoint make this optic specifically for them (for the USW). Just like they did with the T-1.

Here are some specs for comparison purposes:

    NANO:

    Window width: 16mm
    Window height: 13mm

    Body width: 1.2
    Body Height: 1.1
    Body Length: 46mm
    Weight: 3.0oz

    RMR:

    Window width: .917
    Window height: .687

    Body width: 1.133
    Body Height: .953
    Body Length: 44.76mm

    Additional specs on the NANO:

    NV compatible
    1 click = 1" @ 100yds
    Dot size: 4MOA
Dot intensity: 10 manually adjusted settings
    Battery Type: CR1225 Lithium
Battery Life: 1 year of use at position 6
Materials: High strength aluminum, hard anodized, black to dark gray,
    non-glare finish
    Temp range: -40F to +160F
    Water resistant: Submersible to 16ft
To turn on: Press + or - (intensity always starts off at level 7)
    To turn off: Press -

To me it seems that there are no real Advantages to the NANO over the RMR. Unless the NANO is a sealed beam unit, is that the case?

We will need to wait and see run time, etc before we would make conclusions, but the two main advantages that we can see is that you do not need to remove the opic to install a new battery and the lens does not have the blue tint to it. Theres are two issues that seem keep people from buying the RMR.

Looking forward to your opinions on it. It its safe to assume that these will be on your site and if so do you know what these will be selling for? If prices are comparable i could certainly see someone going to the the NANO based on those two features.

The NANO really isn't even acknowledged by Aimpoint yet LOL. So at best, we will see it at the 2018 shot show.

Thank you for putting up the pictures and some details about the Nano. I would be interested to see a pic looking through both sights side-by-side.

Did we ever get an answer to this? The pictures make it appear to be sealed, but it'd be nice to have confirmation.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

It is sealed. No projection onto a window like the RMR.

Thank you for this, and for everything else you do on this forum, but for the sake of comparison, it would be easier if everything were either metric OR standard...
