    Concentricity question

I finally received my stamp for my Aero 8" 300 SBR.
I mounted a YHM flash hider mount and attached my ULT.
I checked the alignment with a Geissele alignment gauge.
The rod isn't quite centered. It doesn't touch the suppressor at any point, but it isn't perfect.
Should I be concerned? I'll try to get a picture up in the next few minutes.
    Thanks!

The two ways I am aware of are to have the threads/shoulder of the barrel re-cut or to shim the QD mount. Cut a shim in half (or smaller) and use to straighten to muzzle device.

You can also try a different QD mount.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I also have emails in to YHM and aero.
YHM wants the can, mount, and barrel back to check out, but they didn't say how much if anything they would charge me.

What kind of shim/washer is on there if any?

If you are using a shim, make sure it sits flat on the barrel shoulder. Some barrels have a little bit of a radius where the threads transition to the barrel shoulder. These barrels need a shim with a chamfer.

Before you send anything back try spinning the alignment rod. They aren't always perfectly straight. Also, the fit to the bore may not be very precise, which means the rod sits at a slight angle. I normally check twice while spinning the rod, with the gas block pointed at 12 o'clock and then at 6 o'clock.

With tolerance stacking it's hard to be perfectly centered. It looks good to me. Eyeball it in addition to the rod.

Okay, the aero upper, ULT, and mount are en route to YHM. Should be 3 three weeks. I'll update as I know.

I've shot a few that looked about like that with the alignment rod. I haven't had any issues, both are Silencerco cans on .308 guns.

That's totally fine man. I don't own a can that is perfectly centered.
