Doesn't look any better to me. Again, they rate M193 only up to 3000 FPS; it's not like finding M193 that exceeds 3000 FPS is very hard, the standard assumption is that M193 out of a 16" barrel hits 3100 FPS at the muzzle.

How much velocity does xm193 loose per foot after it leaves the muzzle? It seems like a 16 inch barrel at 25 yards won't punch though but a 22 inch barrel will.

According to a standard ballistic calculator, using a G1 BC of 0.243 with a muzzle velocity of 3100 FPS, it would be 3000 FPS at 25 yards. So, if you want to gamble on not being shot at in FISH distances, then the various Level III+ steel plates are a viable choice.

That is cutting it close. I don't consider myself that lucky.
