Interested in what the difference will be besides the markings. E3 would designate the E3 bolt so I am assuming no change there. I will pass if the only difference is a 5 changing to a 6. I'm sure the collectibility will be there for some.

I'd like to know what the major differences are too. In particular:

    1) Any change to gas port size?

    2) Any changes to the BCG? I have heard of SR-16's having chromed bolts and carbon cutter bolt carriers, but I'm not sure if either of those features are dependent on special requests or if they are standard to SR-16.

Those are standard to the 16. I would bet that the carrier will be a carbon cutter carrier and the bolt will be chromed. Obviously the marking on the side will say 16 instead of 15.

The carbon cutter carrier like the SR25s have would be interesting. The gas port on the Mod 2 CQB is already decent from what I measure. With the thousands of rounds through my CQB Mod 2s suppressed, I have yet to feel the need for improvement. I don't know if I would buy a marked SR16 Upper unless it was a deal, came with a MAMS, carbon cutter carrier (didn't know this was a thing on 5.56's ??), and also had a even smaller port for more of a dedicated suppressed role. Take out one of those out of the mix and I would probably pass. These are my initial thoughts. Could be persuaded though.

Mine is mod 1 config. Similar to Secret service models. No carbon cutter bolt. The barrels are the same as the cqb sr-15 and that is fact. No change to the gas port or thickness. But it runs fellas. So you've got a chrome bolt and sr-16 makings. Mine came with an Nt4 Flash hider as well . No telling what they'll command for price but we will see.

Any timeline on when they will be available, and i'm sure Jack would be able to give us more details.

LOL! I had my SR15 bolt hard chromed by Metaloy (extractor too, unlike the one in the pic above).

Damn limited runs... Most comments on IG are indicating that many people expect these to be stripped uppers. Is it definitely more than that?
