Bcm mod 3 vfg. It's the only vfg I've tried, but I get on target much quicker, consistently with it, it's the best $20-$30 I've ever spent. An extended rail would be 2nd.
I have to agree with the OP, the TA33 ACOG really is an excellent all around optic, and I am very impressed by it.
But the one item that has really changed my interface with the AR15, and absolutely impressed me, is the Raptor charging handle. So much so that I'd never consider building a rifle without one.
For me, must-haves are few:
V-Tac sling
A1 or A2 flash hider
Many must-not haves but chief among them (other than occasional T&E / experimenting):
Muzzle brake
Trigger system with adjustment screws
One product that has stood out in my mind for a while now is the Innovative Arms WAR upper receiver.
Proctor sling and PLM light mount, ALG V2 rail
The slide fire stock.
BCM Mod 3 pistol grip and mod 3 fore grip. Lots of gotta haves out there, but these are the number one for me. I must have gone thru a dozen pistol grips until I tried the BCM. Angle and palm swell are perfect for me. The fore grip too. That 10 degree-ish rearward sweep makes so much difference. I even modified one (thanks Contax_Shooter) for use on an MLOK hand guard.
Of course Geissele triggers and Aimpoint Micro's are right there too.
