What a stupid piece of crap, absolutely terrible. His poor kids, man.
Yeah, if you can't master the four basic rules, probably best to just tell your kids "guns are dangerous" and not try and teach them anything. Swear to christ if the NRA didn't have to function as a civil rights protective organization, they could devote all that time, money and effort to things like promoting Eddie Eagle safety programs so dipshits who don't know jack about firearms wouldn't have to try and teach gun safety. Best thing is, taking your kids to a "basic gun safety" program is sometimes how adult gun owners learn a thing or two.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

That's been said before for many other idiocities. But handling a gun in that manner, he had it coming. Who knows what other stupid things he's done previously before he bit the bullet (pun intended).

Certainly there is tragedy for all involved, but this was very, very avoidable. And while firearms dumbassery is certainly nothing new, there was a time when most 12 year olds could have told you why it wasn't going to work. Two to three generations of "guns are bad" has produced a huge number of people who can buy firearms legally but only know what they've seen in movies. Nobody has taught them anything and this sort of thing is the result.

Worst of all these people who engaged in gross negligence have added another statistic to the "guns are more likely to kill the owner" list that is used to try and deny the rest of us our rights. I really wish I could access every fourth grader in the country to tell them "guns aren't props", and explain the "four simple rules" concept.

Everyone and their mother are all about "safety for the children" UNTIL it comes time to talk about firearm safety. Seems they'd rather have their kids know nothing and simply trust that they will never be curious about firearms because Diane Feinstein said "they are bad."

They have no problem teaching their kids about sex, drugs and god knows what else but when it comes to teaching gun safety they think that's simply too dangerous. Well here is the result.
    All that.
I also blame Hollywood for it's consistent idiotic portrayal of "cover"...
How many times have we seen someone hide behind a couch, or a shelf, or a car door... and survive a hail of gunfire.

Also, he should have used a Bible. Everyone knows those are the only books that'll stop bullets.
