300 Winchester short magnum?
Looking at a Remington mod7 in 300 wsm dose anyone have any experience with one ? Pros vs cons?

Consider it a short-action .30-06. It doesn't quite keep up with the .300 Winchester Magnum, but it will outshoot a .308 with ease. Brass and ammo can be somewhat difficult to find. Barrel life seems to be below 2,000 rounds. As a hunting rifle, it is excellent. Load it with LR Accubonds and you've got a rifle capable of just about anything on the continent.

.300wsm is my hunting caliber of choice for elk. It is more efficient than the .300 mag for bullets up to 180 grains. The .300 mag is a better long range caliber using longer, heavier bullets. Recoil and velocities are between the .30-06 and .300 mag. Brass and ammo are more expensive than average.
