AK Guys ... Need your opinions on this potential purchase

As an AK connoisseur since the mid 90's, in order of preference...

Arsenal Bulgarian SLR series
Arsenal Russian SGL series
Russian VEPR Series
Hungarian (original import) FEG SA85M
Chinese Norinco MAK-90 and so forth
I have lots of direct hands on experience with all of the above.

Why no Polish (Archer or Beryl)? Just price & availability, quality is great.
Why NOT Romanian? Quality problems.
Why NOT kit builds from surplus parts? Quality problems.

If quality is the primary consideration, the the Hungarian, Chinese and Vepr's are easily out in front of the Arsenals. If configurations are the primary consideration, then Arsenal has the most.

Thanks for weighing in. I have one on order, coming in soon. And hey, really enjoy your videos. You cover things in depth, and your communication/presentation style make you very easy to listen to. Rarely do I listen to your counterparts' videos in full as I usually jump forward toward the wrap-up, but yours I watch in full. Keep up the great content!

I'd say not to buy an I/O made AK. They imported some, such as the 5.56 Polish Archer, that are great rifles.

IO did IMPORT some cool AKs, the Archer and 223 RPK being some of them. Then.... during one of the panics they shot themselves in the foot. The RPKs were selling for $999, IO up and cancelled all orders (refunded money) and placed them all on GB with a $2500 price tag. It may have worked if this was the first panic ....but it wasn't, and people were already tired of this instant price gauging. Long story short IO didn't sell any on GB and later tried to contact the original buyers to sell to them but at that time those people were either pissed off or moved on or both
