    Arik's summary is spot on. Fortunately, I was able to get both the Archer and 223 Vepr RPK at their low prices. When it comes to imported military style rifles, the key is to purchase when they're available because supply isn't indefinite and demand can peak at any moment due to events. Don't wait until they're banned because by then it's too late.

    Just to update this thread, the Yugo NPAP is the best $500 I ever spent.

    Solid piece of machinery, shoots tight groups, nice clean trigger break. No cant to the front sight, a little on the rear... not surprising, and happens too on $1k AKs. I pushed the front site over a bit and all lines up well now. Will be adding a red dot soon anyways thanks to the receiver bracket on this model, makes it easy & solid. Recoil is more of a push than a snap, no biggie.

    Got mine from Classic Firearms and Century still has the $50 rebate.

    My first and likely only AK and I am a believer now!
