    Springfield Range Officer Elite

I'm sure several of you have seen this by now, but I'm curious on general reception by the members here (about the gun, not the political stuff that happened a little while back). New finish, rear sight, G10 grips, ambi safety, and trigger for only about $20 more onto the MSRP. I've been wanting a 9mm railed 1911 for a few years, wondering if this is maybe the best option out there yet. What do you guys think?

I am trading my ro operator for an operator elite on saturday. Lgs has 1 of each of the 4 models.

I hate the ambi safety. Really wish these did not come with it. Or have a option either way. The only gripe I had on my lbo was the ambi safety.

I'm getting out of the 45 ACP 1911 and that looks like a really nice setup in 9mm. I'm a lefty so the ambi would suit my needs. Unfortunately I live in Commiefornia and it will be multiple years before we see it, if ever. But I'm retiring in a couple of years and I bet Idaho will be getting them. Seems reasonably priced too.

I'm interested in getting one now, where before I didn't have interest - will wait and see where the street price ends up. The main things for me are the black T and ledge sight. The markings on the rear of the slide are bad - reminds me of the Grip Zone nonsense.

Yeah agreed there. Do you know anything about the finish? I've seen a few guys excited about it but I don't know if they're just assuming it's good or have experience with it under a different name.

According to SA it's what they use on their Professional builds for the FBI.

The cheapest I’ve found for the 5” duty treat is $1563 cash price. Paying cash to them would be a pain in the ass but even if I do, it’s still another $60 or so for shipping and transfer fee. That’s over $1600. The RO Elite is just under $1k at the LGS. Most of the difference there could be made up between the magwell and fronts strap checkering, but that’s still over 50% more. Another consideration is the warranty and CS reviews. SA is lifetime and known to be GTG. I’ve seen very little on DW because they seem to run very well, but that little that I have seen in the CS department wasn’t good. And that warranty is only five years. If I could find the DW in person it may well be a different story, but so far, that hasn’t happened. At the moment though, I’m holding out in case SA releases a 9mm version of the 10mm TRP Operator that they just announced. If that comes at Shot, for the normal street price of the TRPs and with a magwell, I’ll be all over it. And the DW trigger looks longer than the RO, at least to me.

I like the 1911 platform but haven’t been very interested in 9mm in the 1911. I have so many 9mm platforms already. I am interested in the new 10mm TRP however, lol.
