    Hog Hunting Optic Needed

I'm currently debating between a red dot or a 1-6x scope. I have an astigmatism so the red dot would need to be small dot. I also need some magnification and shots maybe less than 100 yards. I would like to get a two in one scope type of deal or go with a quick detach mount and keep the other in my pack. The optic would need to also be forgiving for low light or night time hunting with a light. I don't have NVG or Thermal.

I have an M1A SOCOM 16 with a Burris MTAC 1.5-6x. Illuminated reticle for prime dusk hunting. Center dot was a little big from precision work, but is PERFECT for what you're describing (100y and less, hog-sized game).

I have a FastFire III on a 45-degree offset just in front of the main scope... but have been debating the need as of late. It might move on to something else.

I have seen Burris Optics online but never read any reviews, on them.

I have a Leupold Mark4 MR/T scope that I use for hog hunting and I have been very happy with it. It has 1.5-5 magnification & a 20mm objective. It uses the CM-R2 reticle with variable brightness levels

Burris is owned by Beretta. They have several different tiers of quality like a lot of other manufacturers.

    I use a Nightforce 1-4 fc3g or an ATACR 4-16 f1 Mil-R.

My SHTF AR has a H1 2moa red dot. It has taken several hogs 5-50 yards.

I just put a Gen2 Razor 1-6 on my 6.5 Grendel SBR for the best of both worlds. It will be my primary deer/hog weapon.

They also own Steiner, which is a click above the Burris line.
I have their P4Xi on a couple guns that have held up well.
They are 1-4 illuminated scopes with a useable bright dot.
They would be perfectly serviceable for hog hunting in heavy cover or out to a couple hundred yards.
I handgun hunt hogs, so I've never used my carbines in that role.

I would look into the accupoints with the triangle. my favorite hunting reticle by far and works like a red dot in their 1-4 or 1-6 line. I have 2 3-9 with amber triangles on deer rifles too.
