    Can a Glock 19 successfully use a 357Sig barrel?

I have a Glock OEM 357Sig barrel and a Glock 19. If I were to buy the stronger .40/357 recoil spring assembly (and using 357 mags) could I reliably shoot it in my Glock 19? I know the extractors are different but is that a major issue?

Will the barrel fit through the barrel opening in the slide?

It shouldn't. You can go from G23 in 40 to 357 with a Glock barrel swap, or using a Lone Wolf barrel, to 9x19, but not from G19 to 40.

I don't think the muzzle end of slide is opened enough and not sure the breach block is wide enough. It might be.

    Nope.

    OD of my 22 barrel - .632 breech face - .434
    OD of my 19 barrel - .569 breech face - .397

The .357 barrel needs to be the same OD as the .40 because they are interchangeable.

Incompatible due to barrel OD, slide ID, and breach face dims.

    If you want a multi-caliber Glock, use a G22/31, 23/32, or 27/33, OEM barrels in .40 and .357, and a 9mm conversion barrel.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not getting this. If you have a Glock 19, then use quality SD ammo and that's that. Why do some people insist on overthinking this? Qualify JHP ammo, +P or now, such as Federal HST 147 grain will be sufficient. Confused here. If you want to shoot 357 then get yourself a handgun designed and built to handle that round.

As always, YMMV and offered with all due respect, IMHO.

This is a great excuse to buy yourself a cheap used G23. People are switching back to 9x19 now that the 40 fad is over, and you can get them pretty cheap. That way you can use the same accessories that you have for the G19 with two handguns in three calibers.

    This. I just picked up a used g23 gen4 for $400.

I need a threaded barrel anyways so I'll get a conversion, and I can reload and shoot 40 if there is a shortage, or I get a hankering. I actually wanted a 19, but couldn't pass up the price, haha.

If you read the post he apparently has a G19 and apparently came by a .357 Sig barrel, I took it as a question as to whether the barrel has any potential use to him. ABNAK has been around long enough to understand appropriate rounds for HD.

BTW, helluva first or second post.
