    Anyone doing a 10" barrel?

    Looking at .223 wylde/5.56 barrels.

    I want 10".

See a lot of 10.5"... one or two 10.3"... no 10".

    Suggestions?

    To be 100% honest: optics.

It would position my muzzle brake as close to the end of my forend as possible, while still allowing clearence for my suppressor. So as shallow as it might sound, it's totally a looks-thing.

Get a 14.5" barrel and have it cut. If you have a longer barrel already, you can get that cut for $100 at ADCO and get exactly what you want.

Depending on the rail you're planning on using, I think you'll likely find that 10.3" is the shortest you'll be able to go while still having clearance for a can. Take a look at some DD MK18's with various cans, both the RIS II and Geissele MK8 rails cut things pretty close. Either way that last 0.3" is gonna take a lot of extra doing, but if you're dead set on it then probably the best thing to do is what nimdabew said previously.

You're going to spend a lot more for very little if any functional / aesthetic gain. I'll snap you a pic of my 9.5" rail on 10.3 upper later. It's not noticeable and a 10" rail would be borderline too long.

I think your only turnkey option is this:

Do you know what forend you are planning on using already? If so that will impact the barrel length. Many manufacturers call a forend 10", but there may be some variation, like the dd mk18 forend is more like 9.55" like the Geissele. That is about the shortest you can go on a 10.3 before having issues with the can hitting the forend.

Using the Noveske NSR 9" M-Lok forend.

Totally agree that prolly not worth worrying about for purely cosmetic purposes.

Narrowed it down to the Noveske CQB 10.5", or a Ballistic Advantage premium 10.3".

I used a 14.5 socom bbl and cut it to 10 , only issue is I had to open the gas discharge hole up a bit to gut it to cycle correct suppressed and non IMG_0220.JPG
