just assembled a 11.5 using BCM ELW turned down the port size to.063 using a BRT microtune gas block, I have a Griffin Armament Spartan 3 pinnable can to make it into a one stamper so I can travel back and forth for pig hunting in the surrounding states. I can testify that the can is gassy as when I was shooting it left handed I could feel a definite puff in my face upon ejection. I have an A5H2 buffer that I was going to add another tungsten weight to see if it will alleviate the gas issue as well as slow the bolt down, I was getting a 3'oclock ejection and the brass was landing 7-8 ft away with enough speed to travel another 7-8 ft on concrete.

You may want to swap the port out for a .060" size or even the new .057" size.

Thanks for the heads up, I have a .060 port some where in my stuff just got to find it. Ran it today with an A5H3 and a tubbs flat spring which helped some but I still was getting a bigger jolt on recoil, really want to run it with an H2 so probably going to order the .057

Yeah, that .057" size would be great IMHO. One could step down in buffer size if necessary, or up if warranted.

tommyrot, you asked somewhere, I was running a Sig QD Ti can in 556. I have their 338LM QD Ti and their direct thread 300WM can. Ive been pretty impressed with their stuff.

I have been seriously thinking about that as my next SBR can. A buddy has one and raves about it as well. And the price is really reasonable.

That is my new bedside gun. It handles like a dream and shoots pretty much ideal. Id grab one of those uppers if money and timing work out. Think its 6945. Good luck.

I run the 338 on my Smith & Wesson j frame. Makes a Saturday night special SPECIAL !

Should be a nice addition to SPR build. They are light and handle the gas very well.

I thought you were joking around. No problem. It's all good. Yea, I'm running the 556 cans on 555 guns. I've run 7.62 on 556 but they are heavy.
