Looking for info on the C8 SFW CQB

I'm motivated to build a replica of the C8SFW CQB upper after seeing it in the Vickers vol. 2 book. I can't find much technical info on it though.

    1. What is the barrel length?
    2. Is it heavy under the handguards like the regular C8?
    3. What sleeve is mounted at the muzzle? One of the Allen Engineering (AE) mounts here? http://aesuppressors.com/mounts/
    4. Is that the same threaded FH (Smith Vortex C8) that the regular C8 SFW has? http://www.smithenterprise.com/image...5.56_03.lg.jpg
    5. Gas port size?
    6. Anyone have hands on time with one? Thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Jason

Thanks. I'm specifically asking about the CQB variant, which I guess is their equivalent of the Mk18 Mod 0.

If it helps, the SEI part numbers for the Canuck Vortex are 1001-V-G6-A2-SBV (FH) and 1001-SBV (thread protector).

Why don't you call Smith and ask. If you get lucky you might even get to speak with Ron. 480-964-1818

I got that straight from SEI's site at http://www.smithenterprise.com/products06.05.html and thought it might help the OP if he hadn't already put it to bed. Not my build (yet), not my problem (yet)--I just sometimes stumble across stuff that might be useful to others while looking for other info toward my own projects.

Someday I may attempt a C8 build, but I have other projects to finish first--like stopping those gun-grabbing assclowns in Olympia.

I’m not a shill for Specialized Armament, but they have a 10 inch special purpose barrel assembly. The description says it’s nearly identical to the British special ops L119A1 or C8 CQB. Pretty spendy, but it’s the only true 10 inch I’ve ran across. I would assume it’s the correct gas port size, but really have no clue. Hope this helps.

There is a big thread on arfcom that would be worth your while to check out.

I’m assuming that was directed to me. Is the thread elsewhere related to the C8 cqb? I’ll try to find it via google. Thanks.
