Waiting on my Aero scope mount to install my Vortex 1-8x on my first Trooper.

I can't decide weather to throw a strike eagle 1-6 or a trijicon Accupower 1-4 on my Trooper. The accupoint is much nicer, but it is also currently mounted on a 2000$ gun.

I just received my Strike Eagle 1-8x today. Initial impressions are strong for a $500 scope. I got it on sale from Brownells last week. I'd go with the 1-8x over the older 1-6x. More magnification, less weight and an improved scope overall.

The problem is the texture of the finish itself. It's rough, like sandpaper and tends to trap particles in the pores, especially when the finish is dry. Rub a fingernail across it, sometime. I bet you can make the marks disappear by putting on a pair of nitryl gloves and rubbing some oil into the receivers with your fingers. Don't use a paper towel or a cloth because they will leave lint behind.

My mistake, I meant Accupower not Accupoint.

Less weight huh? That sounds pretty nice. Is the clarity in glass any different?

My Accupower and Strike eagle are like night and day difference... I like the Strike eagle, but when I look through the Accupower the optical clarity is simply amazing.

I don't think much can beat the trijicon glass and overall quality, but the strike eagles are a real value, and Vortex is a really awesome company.

It's not such that I was going to reject it at my FFL, but I wonder if contacting Colt would do any good? As others have suggested, maybe they just keep the uppers and lowers in a bin somewhere and let them bang against each other or something?

My "Colt" engraving is almost identical, except the L looks is a little more complete. I called Colt and they said they could finish engraving and refinish the whole thing. I just said no thanks not worth the hassle and wait.

The L in Colt is a little special on mine. I couldn't care less.

More interesting is the M4 feed ramps look polished/chamfered. Is it normal that the feed ramps are polished/chamfered with colts? I have a horrible camera phone so sorry for the bad pics..
Feed ramps look a little smiley_freak.gif

Lol, I'm not worried about it at all though.

Got mine in yesterday from Tombstone Tactical. Everything seems to be in order with markings, quality, etc. It's hard to believe the price point of this rifle.

Plus 1 with the Stickman, Definitely!
Such an Easy Fix, as long as the rail wasn't cracked, I would have just swapped out that LITTLE itti bitti Allen Bolt in just acouple minutes... and gone shooting! (^_-)

Sorry I couldn't reply as soon as You posted the picture with it broken.... I haven't been able to log in here for along time, as they switched servers/email program at work.
    Peace Mav
