    Aftermarket trigger for SBR?

    Yay or nay?
It's a Colt 6933. Trigger is stock, mil-spec whatever Colt made. Meh...
I've been spoiled by Geissele SSA and SSA-E. Not even a LMT two-stage comes close. But the price is steep.
The rifle will have -in the future- a non-magnified RDS. I plan to use it for close range stuff (home defense, 100 yds local range), not for half-a-mile shots.
Is it worth to upgrade to an aftermarket trigger?
    Which one?

If you like r SSA or SSA-E get another one of those. You'll have a sale soon enough where you can get them a little cheaper. Not much need to look elsewhere unless you had a specific thing in mind you wanted to try out.

I've got the SSA / SSA-E's in most of my ARs. If you're looking for a little price break, the Geissele /Brownells triggers feel pretty much like the Geissele to me but cost a little less. Best is to look for a sale on them though. Seems to be one every few months. I'm interested in what their single stage is like.
Some of the Colt triggers I've used were actually not bad though. A little heavy, but not gritty and sloppy like some triggers I've felt.

There's nothing magical about an SBR. If you like Geissele, etc.. in your standard AR15, then it will be just as nice in the shorter version.

This is subjective, all your going to get is a list of people's favorite triggers.

If you already know what you like go with that.

    Ditto.

But if I may interject. I have been using the ALG ACT in all of my rifles now (minus precision or gamer gun). I think it and BCM trigger (prefer ALG ACT) are the default for a general purpose trigger. Hard to justify anything else unless it's going to serve a specific purpose.

Just curious, Iraqgunz, did you see the Elephant or did you spend your time in country in the rear, with the gear?

    A. Please tell me you're kidding.

    B. What does this have to do with the subject at hand?

Somethings shoud be discussed either pm or over a beer, this is one.

And on to the topic. As stated earlier ymmv. I like the alg as a step above basic mil spec. But if i could afford it i would definately go with an ssa.
