    Re anodizing an upper?

I figured this would be the best forum to find recommendations on who is the most reputable shop for stripping the existing anodizing and re-anodizing an upper.

I would look at US Anodizing. May be a while before they accept new work.

Victor is the best. I wouldn't use anyone else.

Ok, I'll bite- Why do you want to strip and re-anodize an upper?

Anodizing goes into the material as well being on the surface. Stripping anodizing involves a dimensional change of one-half the original anodizing thickness, ie, holes will get 0.001 inch bigger. You can compensate by applying twice the thickness in the new coating. I don't know if that will cause problems.

This, lets see if there are more roads to the same place... what are you trying to do?
...and what Lysander said- I don't see this playing out as you intend.

Buy a new upper. Just having a single upper annodized costs as much or more than an already annodized upper itself. Ive badly wanted this to not be so but it is.

And by annodizing I mean mil spec type II hard coat.
