    LANTAC Enhanced-BCG

It seems Lantac is attempting to cover the same ground as LMT's Enhanced Carrier without bringing a lawsuit. They are being coy about what changes they have actually made, and instead are stating what they think will be the results of their changes (via their FB page).

"Redesigned gas ported carrier, shrouded primary port, enlarged and forward angled secondary ports."

    &

"The new gas porting results is a much flatter shooting carrier, as gas is bled off differently, it also dumps more of its gas forward and out of the ejection port opening. Due to this feature suppressed short barrel rifles do not seem to suffer from as much pressurization. In testing we were able to shoot a 7.5” 556 rifle with suppressor fitted in full auto and feel no gas to the face. This was with a .0635” gas port and pistol gas and standard charging handle.

Unsuppressed and longer barrel rifles benefit from smoother, flatter operation and increased lock time."

I read the link......I thought that looked like a NiB finish on there and I was right.

BTW, had never heard of LANTAC before this thread.

I'm usually not a fan of the wiz-bang carriers but I may have to give this one a try, assuming they can be at a reasonable price point. The claims of less gas to the face suppressed is what really intrigues me.

Is it just me, or does the top of that cam pin look rather odd?

Good catch. I assume it is the "SmoothCam" system as described in their upper ad: http://www.lantac-usa.com/AR15-M16-M.../USRUpper.html

According to LANTAC: "The CP-R360 Cam Pin has no moving parts to break or lock up. Machined from 17-4 PH Stainless Steel and hardened to H900 (40RC) its head is polished for a super smooth finish. The cam pins circular head has a single flat face machined into it so that it can be inserted into any bolt carrier without having to remove the gas key. The unique domed head allows the cam pin to operate in a completely different position to a traditional pin, with the radius of the head curving away from the receivers internal surface, rather than forming a hard or sharp edge on its upper corner that causes wear."

I would never buy an NiB BCG. There are other options which are much better. They are talking a large risk in this market.

I'd go with hard chrome before NiB.

As an aside, what is the LMT Enhanced bolt coated with? Looks like chrome with nickel in it (?).

That's an immediate deal breaker for me too.

    Frankly, me too.

I also am suspect of them changing the cam pin geometry. Effing with bolt timing is tricky at best.
