ZQI FMJ is HORRIBLE for accuracy. Out of my colt 901 with an accupower 3-9 and geissele ssa-e it's like a 3 inch group but hornady 168 amax the gun is a hair over an inch. gmm 168 is like 1.25 inches to .75 inches depending on me. I got 640 of the ZQI for $300 at a gun show, it cycles fine but I keep it for plinking and hopefully the brass is decent for when I eventually get my hornady press up and going.

    What about the aguila 7.62x51?
Price is about as cheap as the Zqi. But the aguila is 150gr Vs 147gr.
Might get a case of that for my AA SF frame 308

Update: yep, it was the ammo.
Shot 550-800 yards today (was delayed by weather), and did far better. Hirtenberger and Austrian shot ok, but the NATO spec Radway Green and Portuguese surplus shot great. Most shooting today was at 600, but after performing well there, I got 8/9 hits on steel, rapid fire at 800, so I'm satisfied.
Gonna dump that ZQI and stock up on more NATO spec ammo.

For the minimal cost difference, I'd highly recommend getting better performing ammunition than M80 type.
It really does nothing well other than experiencing recoil.

Solid advice here. You can pay 50 cents per round for questionable m80, or 95 cents for fed gold medal 168/175. Twice the cost, you say? Well...if you miss twice with m80, you could have fired one round of gold medal and either get a hit or at least know that it wasn't the ammo that caused you to miss.

I will be getting FGMM, as well as M80.
Similar to how in 5.56, my main stockpile is M855, but I also have a good amount of Federal T223F.

Supposedly the Zqi is NATO spec
